My band could use some gigs.

by Lawrence 7/24/2008 3:55:00 PM

So I finally got a bass player & drummer, I've been practicin and I'm ready for some gigs.  I am not much of a go getter at booking shows though, so if anyone has some place where they need a kick-ass soul-rock outfit let me know.

"Leatherwood" CD Review via RadioIndy

by Lawrence 7/3/2008 4:59:00 AM

Via: http://digg.com/music/Radioindy_Presents_Gold_Artist_Lawrence_Leatherwood

"Leatherwood" by Lawrence Leatherwood is a neo-soul, funk rock album brought to you by a talented singer/songwriter. The "Seattle Sound" is well represented in this piece of work. The songs are slightly ambient and psychedelic. Lawrence's voice is well-layered and drives the music. The arrangements are creative and have an uncanny uniqueness. You get a nice mix of funk and fuzz guitar with a modern/classic blend. The album also has great continuity. It is definitely one of those CDs you play all the way through. The band is tight and the album is well produced and well mixed. Highlights include "Vision of Love," which features a wicked guitar riff and a driving beat. "It Can Be" features a swaying rhythm and great layering in the arrangement. "Leave It" is perfect for any smoke filled room. If you enjoy Jimi Hendrix and Lenny Kravitz, you'll dig this memorable CD.-William and the RadioIndy.com Reviewer TeamCheck out Leatherwood's music on RadioIndy.com with link to purchase and links to popular sites.

"Real Love" - Song lyrics

by Lawrence 6/2/2008 2:41:00 PM

Here are a few more lyrics:

Real Love

  • Verse: A-Bm7 -> Asus+G -> A+F# -> FMaj
  • Chorus:  C+Friff -> G+Criff -> FMaj
  • Bridge (same as chorus w jimi style): C pwr -> G pwr -> FMaj

Girl, I just want you ;  To find what it is you seek.

What do you really want baby ; Can anyone give you what you need?

Can you find that love inside, for yourself?   And show it off to me?

I know you’re gonna find your way ; And be as beautiful as you can be.

     When the darkness comes down now

     And your heart is ripped away,

     Ain’t nothing wrong with you.

     You are so beautiful, Just the way you are.

You keep going down dead end roads; never quite finding what you need.

Blindly cling to your path; praying that one day you’ll see.

     The light is coming down now

     And it’s more than you thought it could be

     You’re stumbling through a dream

     And as strange as it seems.

    This is real love x4

That hunger in your heart is gone.

That emptiness has passed

That longing that you so long sought; and you know this love will last.

This is real love x4
